Terms and Conditions

Definitions

The Client: The recipient of the service.
The Company: Makeup By Nichola.
The Event: The occasion for which the service has been agreed.
The Trial: A service provided by The Company to The Client prior to The Event, to determine details of the makeup/hair application for The Event.
The Party: Any person requiring services, in addition to The Client at The Event.
The Pre Booking Questionnaire: The Questionnaire, completed by The Client at initial stages of enquiry.
The Agreement: The agreement, confirmed by email for the service between The Client and The Company.
The Booking Fee: The amount payable by The Client to The Company to reserve The Event date and cover administration expenses.
The Fee: The amount payable to The Company, by The Client for services set out in The Agreement.
The Balance: The remaining and final amount payable to The Company by The Client for services in The Agreement.
Peak Season: The period of time running from May 1st to September 30th in a single calendar year.
24 Hour Period: Runs from 0000 to 0000 (midnight to midnight).

Bridal Makeup/Hair Bookings

Services are secured by receipt of a 25% booking fee.  Receipt of a booking fee confirms The Company’s availability for The Event on the agreed date, as set out in the Booking Questionnaire. 
The Booking Fee is deducted from the final fee due. Availability can only be confirmed once a  Booking Fee is received. Any Fee(s) are always agreed by email; verbal agreements are not deemed valid by The  Company.

Bridal Peak Season

Peak season runs from May to September of a single calendar year. Any booking taking place on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday during peak season will be subject to a minimum spend of Bride service plus 2 other services, not including a trial. The minimum spend applies to all Bank Holidays throughout the year.

Trials

Trials for hair/makeup services will be held at De Luca Beauty Salon, 26 Warley Hill, Brentwood, Essex, CM14 5HA unless previously agreed between The Client and The Company in The Agreement.
Trials will be held between the hours of 0930am and 1700pm Monday to Friday unless previously agreed between The Client and The Company in The Agreement.
The maximum time allocation for a hair/makeup trial is 2.5 hours or 4.5 hours when both hair and makeup are to be trialled. Any additional time required for trial sessions will be charged at a full trial price and will need to be booked as a separate trial.

Travel Expenses

For travel by motor vehicle, travel expenses are incurred for services provided outside a 10 mile road travel distance from Brentwood, Essex CM13 and are charged at 45p per mile for a return journey. If travel includes entering the London Congestion Charge Zone, the Congestion Charge fee will be added to the service fee and be payable by The Client. Car Parking fees will also be payable by The Client to The Company.
If other methods of transport are required to reach The Event, these will be discussed and any fees that may incur will be agreed with The Client during the booking process.
For services provided outside of the UK, travel expenses to be paid by The Client to The Company include:

  • Motor vehicle travel outside a 10 mile road travel distance from Brentwood, Essex CM13 for a return journey, charged at 45p per mile.
  • Car parking fees at train station/airport/port where The Company will be travelling from.
  • Return rail/flight/boat tickets to convenient stations/airports/ports.
  • All additional reasonable travel expenses incurred at the destination to allow The Company to arrive at The Event by the agreed time i.e. taxis.

If travel is not available to allow The Company to return to Brentwood, Essex CM13 in the 24hr period following The Event date a £50 fee will be payable, per 24hrs to The Company by The Client as agreed in The Agreement.
Motor vehicle travel distances are calculated using an online journey planner and are to be agreed by The Company and The Client in The Agreement.
The Company will always endeavour to find the most reasonable and cost effective travel, and all travel will be agreed between The Client and The Company before travel bookings are confirmed.

Accommodation – UK

Accommodation expenses may be incurred for services provided within the UK for bookings where The Company would otherwise have to travel from Brentwood, Essex CM13 before 0600am. Accommodation expenses will be agreed between The Client and The Company in The Agreement.
A fee of £50 will be payable from The Client to The Company for every 24hr period outside of The Event date that The Company will spend away from Brentwood, Essex CM13 for services in the UK.

Accommodation – Outside UK

For services outside the UK accommodation expenses at The Event destination will be charged to The Client to cover a reasonable period, agreed between The Client and The Company.
Accommodation expenses will occur, payable by The Client to The Company for accommodation required in the UK at stations/airports/ports where The Company would need to travel from Brentwood, Essex CM13 before 0600am.

All accommodation expenses incurred will be agreed between The Client and The Company in The Agreement before any accommodation bookings are confirmed.

Payment – Bridal Services

Trial fees are to be paid a minimum of 3 days prior to the trial date, in full.   Trial fees are to be paid via an invoice sent by The Company and will amount to 25% of the total booking fee.
An invoice for the balance of The Fee will be sent at the time of the booking confirmation. Full payment of The Balance of The Fee will be payable by The Client to The Company no later  than 21 days prior to The Event date. 
In instances where The Event is less than 21 days after a booking is confirmed, full payment of  The Fee will be required. 
The Booking Fee and The Balance of The Fee is to be paid through an invoice sent by The Company.  Bookings are only confirmed once the funds have cleared into The Company’s account. 

Payment – Occasion Services

Full payment of The Balance of The Fee will be payable by The Client to The Company immediately after the service is complete.
Payment of The Balance of The Fee can be made via cash or PayPal.

Client Responsibility

It is The Clients responsibility to inform The Company of any potential issues such as but not limited to, medical conditions, allergies and/or sensitivities. The Company cannot be held liable for any condition that arises or loss incurred by The Client if The Client has not informed The Company of any known conditions as stated above, or of any conditions unknown to The Client at the time of the service.
The Company reserves the right to cancel The Agreement if the behaviour of The Client is deemed unreasonable or inappropriate and/or if The Client reports a condition that The Company deem as a risk to The Client or The Company’s health and wellbeing. In these circumstances any payments received from The Client to The Company for services, are non-refundable.

Company Responsibility

The Company will always endeavour to honour The Agreement to the best of its ability. If circumstances occur that are out of The Company’s control, such as illness, delay or unavailability The Company will inform The Client at the earliest convenience and endeavour to make/advise of alternative arrangements if possible.
The Company reserves the rights to offer The Client at its discretion, reasonable compensation in the event that it is not able to honour The Agreement. This will be discussed and agreed openly and honestly with The Client.

Cancellations

Payments made to The Company for a service that is subsequently cancelled by The Company will be refunded in full within 7 days of the cancellation.
Cancellations by The Client for a wedding service where a balance payment has been made, that are received less than 10 weeks before the start of The Event are non-refundable. Cancellations received before this time will be refunded in full within 7 days of the cancellation.
Cancellations for services booked where travel and/or accommodation expenses have been paid for by The Company and are non-refundable by the travel/accommodation provider(s) will incur full reimbursement from The Client to The Company for the travel and/or accommodation costs paid.
Booking Fees are non refundable unless the cancellation is made by The Company, in which case a full refund will be provided within 7 days of the cancellation.
Cancellations from The Client are only valid if received via email to makeupbynichola@gmail.com.

Photography and Use of Images

Photographic/video images of The Client, The Party and/or The Event will not be used unless The Client as given permission as requested on the Pre Booking Questionnaire.

Changes to Services/Prices

Prices for products and services are subject to change without notice. The Company reserves the right to discontinue or modify a service at any time, without notice.
Changes to prices will not effect The Agreement in place between The Client and The Company once the Booking Fee has been paid by The Client.

Additional Important Information

Assistants/Additional Artists: An assistant or Additional Artist may be required if the time frame given for bridal services on The Event date are deemed by The Company not to be possible for one person. An additional makeup artist/hairstylist can be booked for an additional £90 per booking.
Faux Lashes: Cluster or Strip lashes are included in the price of any makeup service. There is no reduction in price to any makeup service if faux eyelashes are declined by The Client.
Vegan and Cruelty Free: The Company is not registered as Vegan or Cruelty free however the makeup and skin care products used by The Company are from registered Cruelty Free Brands. The parent company of the brand may not be registered as cruelty free or vegan.
Younger Party members: Makeup services for members of The Party who are under 10 years old are complimentary. This includes blusher, lip gloss and some simple sparkle eyeshadow. Any further makeup required for under 10s will be deemed as a Party member booking and Bridal Party member fees will apply.
